Here we go first (non) surprise of the evening - Andorra gives Spain maximum ponts.
Don't like this new super quick voting system - what was wrong with the old slow build up sort eh?

The few songs I've seen/heard seem a bit better than recent years but bring back the likes of Abba / Brotherhood of Man /Bucks Fizz etc - they were the days eh?

Half of my family want to watch Big Brother and I want to watch Eurovision - guess what we are watching?
Yep - Big Bro!!!!
Anyway I prefer the voting in Eurovision to the songs - it all gets sooooo political and we soon realise that not much of Europe actually likes Britain. Remember a few years ago when we got 'nul points'? -

When Did You Conduct Your First Bible Study?
by south african beef ini remember taking the "truth" book into primary school when i was 11 and studying with another lad.
i moved awasy with my mum and dad a little later and for many years i wondered whether this boy grew up to become a 'brother'.
at assemblies i would look out for him, also i looked on the program to see if perhaps he was giving any of the talks!

Now I really really hope he didn't become a 'Witto' because it would problably ruined his life like it nearly did mine.
Strange isn't it how when you are in d 'troof' you are so blinkered and when you are out you realise how blinkered THEY are!
P.S. - sorry about the empty thread under the same title - I pressed the wrong key on my PC. Think I need lessons! -

How old were you when you were baptized?
by moomanchu in.
reading hellriders topic made me wonder about this.. i waited till i was 21 because i was drinking alcohol as a youth and didn't want to get baptized while breaking the law.
man that is screwed up, seemed reasonable at the time.

I can't agree with Moomanchu more - as 'true' christians don't they understand that it was for a good reason that Jesus waited until he was 30 to get baptised and he was perfect!
What hope does a teenager have of really understanding what they are doing and what consequences their decision will bring?
I did two things in life too early - getting baptised (18years old) and getting married (at 21).
I got divorced and remarried in my early forties and am also disfellowshipped.
As my dad once said - I learn the hard way!
Still, least I'm happy now, but if I knew what I know now when I was youg I would have had many more happier years to add to the ones I'm having now. -

When Did You Start To S L O W Down In The "Truth"???
by minimus inwhen you look back at it, what got you to slow down?
?

I started mentally slowing down many years before I had the courage to physically slow down.
Do you follow what I mean?
I hated field service - but persevered because I felt I had to, especially as I often took the lead.
I read the Watchtower because I apparently was a good reader - until I had a panic attack on stage and had to get off!
I answered up regularly to put on an outward show that I was spiritual.
I even sometimes prayed at night!
I remember that when I well and truly was slowing down I was occassionaly asked to give a prayer from the platform and I really went over the top in being sooooo sincere in what I was saying! I also used to keep my eyes open to see who didn't close theirs - usually it would be kids who would see me looking, poke their tongue out and put me right off!
I slowed down completely when I was taken off from being a ministerial servant - what a loss that was - NOT!!!!!!
